About me

I am an evolutionary anthropologist and behavioural ecologist working across disciplines in health, reproductive ecology, and family demography. I teach Evolutionary Medicine on the MSc in Medical Anthropology and the BA Human Sciences, and Practical Quantitative Methods on the MSc in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Oxford. I am also covering the Director of Studies for Human Sciences at Wadham College.

My research takes a biocultural approach, where the interplay between biology and culture takes a central role in interpreting variation in reproductive behaviour, health outcomes, and human life-histories. I am interested more generally in the behavioural ecology of families, maternal and child health, and evolutionary medicine. I am a fellow of the Fertility and Reproduction Studies Group at Oxford and of the Royal Anthropological Institute.
